Android Ice Cream Sandwich to get Gamepad support

The new overhauled version of the Android operating system will bring along native support for Gamepads, happy gaming.

If you are quite enticed by the Sony Ericsson Xperia play and the exceptional gaming capabilities it offer because of its gamepad then wait for sometime as solution to your problems is on the way. Google Ice Cream Sandwich the latest version of the Android operating system that was unwrapped some days before will have native support for gamepads. What that means is that users will now be able to use based gaming controllers or gamepads right on their Android ICS powered device making it a boon for the avid and not so avid gamers as well.

The information was revealed by android Engineer Romian Guy through his Twitter account. According to his post on twitter which is “With Android 4.0 you can use USB gamepads and HDMI to turn your Galaxy Nexus into a video games console!” the Google ICS will get gamepad support while the Galaxy Nexus 3 users will get an additional benefit of enjoying gaming on the big screen as well with the use of the onboard HDMI connectivity of the Nexus 3.

The Google ICS that comes with a considerable performance is turning out to be a milestone event as the same operating system now will be supported both by the Tablets and the smartphones combined. And there are quite a few surprises that are lying in the bag and will only be revealed once the ICS becomes mainstream and the updated for the devices start rolling out.
