Amazon has announced the availability of Kindle and Kindle Paperwhite e-readers in India. The 5th generation Kindle, the smallest and lightest Kindle ever, is available on Amazon.in starting today for Rs 5,999. Both the WiFi only and WiFi + 3G models of Kindle Paperwhite will be available for purchase starting June 27 on Amazon.in at a suggested retail price of Rs 10,999 and Rs 13,999 respectively.
Amazon has also announced that starting today and for the next two weeks, customers in India can download one best-selling Kindle Book each day for free. Today’s free eBook of the Day is Thundergod: The Ascendance of Indra by Rajiv G Menon.
Amazon also announced that Kindle Fire HD-7 inch and 8.9 inch HD display-will be available on Amazon.in starting June 27.
Kindle is also available at over one hundred retail outlets including Croma, Reliance Digital, E-Zone and Vijay Sales in major cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad and Pune.
