Amazon is offering a limited period Alexa-powered smart speakers -Amazon Echo and Echo Dot, in India.
With this, the Amazon Echo is now available at a price of Rs 7,999 against its original price of Rs 9,999. Amazon Echo Dot will now retail for Rs 3,199 against its original price of Rs 4,999. To recall, earlier Echo and Echo Dot received a price cut of Rs 1000 and Rs 900 respectively. With the price cut, the speakers were available for Rs 8,999 and Rs 4,099 respectively. Interestingly, the company is also offering Rs 100 discount on its recently-launched Echo Spot smart speaker as well. The device is now available for Rs 10,399, against its original introductory price of Rs 10,499.
To recall, the Amazon Echo and Echo Spot were launched in India last year. Echo smart speaker comes with a cylindrical shape and there is a 2.5-inch downward-firing woofer, which can be connected to Bluetooth. The speaker is equipped with Dolby Digital and has Alexa voice assistant.
The Echo Dot speaker, on the other hand, has a compact design and it features far-field voice recognition, which allows it to understand commands from a distance. With the built-in speaker, users can talk with Alexa and listen to music, and one can simply connect it to other speakers via Bluetooth or through 3.5mm stereo cable. This will bring Amazon Alexa to any home entertainment system.
