Paper tickets for air travel in the country will soon become history. On the lines on Indian railway, which allows one to travel by showing the screen shot of a ticket on their mobile or laptops, Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has announced that passengers need not bring printouts of their tickets anymore to enter an airport.
The Chennai Airport is already gearing up to permit passengers to enter terminal buildings after showing the tickets’ screenshot on their smartphones, tablets or laptops.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel, who man the entry and exit gates of terminal buildings, will soon be trained to check passenger name record (PNR), name and other details of the ticket on tablets or laptops of passengers.
Since BCAS is a central agency the impact of the order will be seen across the country and very soon other airports will implement the measure.
