The operator possesses 4G band in Andhra pradesh, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Assam, the North East and J&K. Aircel, as per reports, will also rollout 13,000 2G,3G and 4G sites across the country.
Currently, Bharti Airtel offers pan-India 4G services. Other 4G spectrum holders including Reliance Jio and Vodafone are planning to roll out their 4G services by this year end.
Idea recently said that it will launch 4G services in the country in early 2016.
The Government of India auctioned 4G spectrum in the year 2010 and has mandated 4G spectrum owning telecos to roll out the services by January 2016 in at least 90 percent of the service areas, failing which the Department of Telecom will have the right to withdraw the radiowaves.
