WhatsApp is a great tool for communicating that offers ease of use as well as a cost effective alternative to SMS as well. But the popup notification feature of WhatsApp might be useful for many and irritating for others. So here are simple step by step instructions on how you can enable or disable WhatsApp popup notifications on your Android device.
Read on to find out how
Access the WhatsApp application from within your device’s application menu or from the home screen where the app icon is placed.
Once inside the application access the options menu. It can be accessed by pressing the options key on your smartphone. If you have a tablet then the same is located on the extreme upper right hand side of the device, denoted by three dots. From the popup menu select settings to proceed further.
Once the settings sub menu opens select the notifications tab. Here, settings related to popup behavior and notifications related to WhatsApp are located. Do not change any settings unless you completely understand what effect it might have on your device or application.
From the following options select the popup notification tab. Again do not unnecessarily modify other settings.
The device will show a popup with in total of 4 options. The first will give no notification, the second options will offer notifications when the display is on. The third option will give notifications only when the display is off, and the last option will keep giving pop up notifications all the time.
Once you have selected the desired action exit the settings and although it’s not necessary, a quick device reboot will allow the options to take effect more efficiently.
