Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A was launched in August this year in China in two variants – Standard Edition and High Edition. The Standard Edition variant has 2GB RAM with 16GB storage and Snapdragon 425 chipset. The High Edition variant further comes in two variants – 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage and both come with Snapdragon 435 chipset. The 2GB variant is priced at 699 Yuan which is approximately Rs 6,700, 3GB variant will cost you 899 Yuan which is approximately Rs 8,645 while 4GB is priced at 1199 Yuan which is approximately Rs 11,530. All the variants went on sale in China via Mi.com and JD.com on the same day except the top variant featuring 4GB RAM and Snapdragon 435 chipset.
Now, this variant is available for sale in China at 1199 Yuan which is approximately Rs 11,530. However, the phone was apparently available in the flash sale as the phone is currently not available on the official Mi Mall. As far as the launch of Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A in India is concerned, it is said that the smartphone will make its debut before the year-end.
Both the Standard Edition and High Edition variants feature a sleek metal unibody design and a 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) curved glass display with brightness up to 450 nits. They have a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash, f/2.2 aperture, PDAF. Both of them are Dual-SIM variants and it runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat based MIUI 9 operating system. Connectivity options for both include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/GLONASS, 3.5mm Audio Jack and USB Type C. The devices are powered by a 3,080 mAh battery that is rated to offer 35 hours of call time and 11 days of standby time.
