Xiaomi is all set to launch its second Android One device, the Xiaomi Mi A2, today in India. The company has scheduled a launch event to be held in New Delhi at 4 PM. The event will be live streamed via the company’s official social media handles.
The Xiaomi Mi A2 will be the successor to Xiaomi Mi A1 which was launched in India last year at Rs 14,999. The smartphone is already confirmed to be launching as Amazon exclusive in the country. The Xiaomi Mi A2 is expected to be launched in Gold, Black, Blue and Rose Gold colour options in India.
The Xiaomi Mi A2 was first launched in Spainalong with Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite. Xiaomi has however already confirmed that it will be launching only Mi A2 and not the Mi A2 Lite in India.
As per a recent report,only 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant will be launched in India. It was initially launched in three variants – 4GB + 32GB, 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128. However, it is expected that the company might also launch the premium variant of 6GB RAM with 128GB storage option in India as well. In India, the 4GB + 32GB is likely to be priced around Rs 18,000 giving competition to Redmi Note 5 Pro, Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 and the recently launched Honor Play.

The Xiaomi Mi A2has a unibody metal design and has a fingerprint sensor on the back. It features a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with 2160 × 1080 pixels resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor with Adreno 512 GPU powers the device.
The device features a 20-megapixel front camera with a f/1.8 aperture, SonyIMX376 sensor and soft LED flash. For the rear, it has a dual-camera setup of 12-megapixel primary sensor with Sony IMX486 sensor, f/1.75 Aperture and 20-megapixel secondary sensor with SonyIMX376 sensor and f/1.75 aperture.
Backed up by 3010 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 technology, the Xiaomi Mi A2 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system. For connectivity features, it has dual sim, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi 802.11ac, GPS and USB Type-C port. The handset measures 158.70 x 7.30 x 75.40mm and weighs 168 grams.
