Xiaomi is all set to launch its flagship Poco F1 in India today. Now seems the company is planning to launch another flagship smartphone in India soon. Reportedly, Xiaomi Mi 8 is going to launch in India in September.
As per a report of 91Mobiles, Xiaomi will be launching Mi 8 next month in the country. The company has started taking orders for the Mi 8 from brick and mortar stores across the country. The report cites Delhi-based mobile dealer and separate dealers located in Rajasthan, UP, and Delhi as sources. It further revealed that the offline retail of Mi 8 will complement online sales.
A Xiaomi service center employee in Chandigarh has said We’ve been asked by the company to return older, unsold spares in order to make rooms for a new ‘iPhone screens’, back bodies, glass screen, camera component, magnets and ribbon cables. It usually takes us about two weeks to receive parts and another week to conduct an inventory and send details to the company, all due process is usually completed before the product launch.
Xiaomi Mi 8 was launched along with Mi 8 Explorer Edition and Mi 8 SE smartphones in China earlier this year and was the first Xiaomi phone to include a notch. Xiaomi Mi 8 features 6.21-inch full-HD+ (1080x2248 pixels) AMOLED display with 88.5 percent screen-to-body ratio. The dual-SIM phone runs Android Oreo-based MIUI 10.
The Mi 8 is backed up by a 3,400mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 4.0+. It is equipped with a dual camera setup at the back with two 12-megapixel sensors with 1.4-micron pixels, four-axis OIS, and dual pixel autofocus. It has a 20-megapixel front camera with a f/2.0 aperture. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor coupled with 6GB and 128GB internal storage. It comes with a fingerprint sensor at the back.
For connectivity, it has features like 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, and USB Type-C. Sensors on board include accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, barometer, digital compass, infrared, and a proximity sensor. The handset measures 154.9x74.8x7.6mm.
