WhatsApp is preparing to announce a host of interesting features of its users pretty soon. The company is reportedly working on introducing silent and vacation modes and linked accounts feature.

Starting with the Vacation Mode first, it will prevent archived chats from becoming active once a new message is received, reports WABetaInfo. The new option will be available in Settings > Notification. The new feature is currently in development and it is not known when it will be rolled out for the masses. With this, archive chats will not be shown in the regular chat option and instead will be shown in Archived Chats.

Then there is Silent Mode, which the report says is already enabled for Android. This will allow hiding app badges for muted chats. This simply means that whenever a new message arrives on a mute chat, it will not be shown in the app badge.

Lastly, there is a Linked Accounts option, which will allow WhatsApp users to link external services. The feature is mainly developed for WhatsApp Business, though it would be also available for normal users as well. The Linked Accounts option can be found under the Profile Settings. Currently, only Instagram is supported for Linked Accounts. Users need to add the asked credentials and the WhatsApp account will be linked to your Instagram profile. This will allow users to recover the password and share status updates on Instagram.
