WhatsApp rolls out ‘Mute’ button shortcut to notifications panel, Stickers reportedly found in testing

The new Mute button feature is currently available on Android devices. The new shortcut is enabled for everyone running version 2.18.216. Through this feature, users can mute a conversation right from the notification panel. However, in order to do so, the chat they want to mute should have 51 and above messages.

WhatsApp is now rolling out a new feature that will allow users to mute a conversation right from the notifications panel. The new feature is currently rolled out to all users who have opted for the beta version of the application. Meanwhile, the company is also testing Sticker feature on its application.

The new Mute button feature is currently available on devices, reports WABetainfo. The new shortcut is enabled for everyone running version 2.18.216. Through this feature, users can mute a conversation right from the notification panel. However, in order to do so, the chat they want to mute should have 51 and above messages. The Mute shortcut won’t appear if the user has received less than 51 messages.

Meanwhile, the company is also testing the Sticker feature on its application. According to tweet by WABetainfo, the stickers preview are now available as a part of WhatsApp beta version and it will be available for all beta tester in the near future. The tweet highlights that whenever there will be a new WhatsApp Sticker pack available for download, there will be a green dot on the ‘+’ button.

Previously, the company was also reported to be working on a new feature that will let the user know a message is read from the notification panel or not. Dubbed as ‘Mark as Read’ shortcut and it allows a chat to read as marked directly from the notification panel. The new button will be displayed just adjacent to reply to button on the notification panel.
