The feature will allow users to watch a YouTube video in the chat itself.

WhatsApp, a Facebook-owned instant messaging application has started rolling out the YouTube integrated picture-in-picture mode for iPhone customers. The feature will allow users to watch a YouTube video in the chat itself.

The feature was initially announced last year in November, which is now available with the latest update v2.18.11 on Apple App Store. Earlier, to watch a shared YouTube link one has to pause their WhatsApp conversation and users were directed to the YouTube application. But now the video will appear in a small pop up window in the chat itself.

This will allow iPhone users to easily exchange messages while watching the video and can even move around the pop-up window within the app to multitask. For now, the feature is only available for iOS devices, but it is expected to soon roll out for Android as well.
