Vivo has launched a new smartphone in China under its Y series – Vivo Y89. The smartphone is listed on the company’s China website and it’s already on sale on Aliexpress. It is priced at 1,598 which is approx. Rs 16,700), and is available in Aurora Purple and Black Gold colour options.
Vivo Y89 features a 6.26-inch Full HD+ 19:9 IPS display with 2280 x 1080 pixels resolution. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by 2.2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 626 processor with Adreno 506 GPU. It has 4GB RAM, 32GB Internal Memory and expandable memory up to 256GB with microSD.
For the camera, the Vivo Y89 has dual rear camera setup with a combination of 16-megapixel primary sensor with LED flash and secondary sensor of 2-megapixel camera. It has a 16-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calling. For security, the phone has a fingerprint sensor at the back and facial recognition feature as well.

On the software front, the device runs Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box wrapped under FunTouch OS 4.0 and it is fueled by 2360mAh battery. Connectivity options for the phone include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS. The phone measures 154.81 x 75.03 x 7.89mm and weight is 149.3 grams.
As of now, there is no information whether the company has any plans to launch the Vivo Y89 in Indian market or not. Vivo last launched Vivo Y91 in India for Rs 10,990 this month only. The phone features 6.22-inch HD+ Halo FullView display, MediaTek Helio P22 processor, 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. It has 13-megapixel and 2-megapixel dual rear camera setup and 8-megapixel front camera. The Vivo Y91 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and it is backed up by a 4030mAh battery.
