Telcos fight, consumers gain: BSNL offers 10GB internet every day at Rs 249 per month

This surely looks like a reaction to Reliance Jio’s recent announcement of fibre broadband services.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) last week announced that it has introduced a new which now offers 10GB data every day at just Rs 249 per month. Apart from this, users will also get unlimited calling but not in the day rather users can make free calls only after 9 PM in the night till 7 AM in the morning. However, you get free unlimited calling on Sundays. The internet speed you get under this plan is 2MB per second.

This surely looks like a reaction to Reliance Jio’s recent announcement of fibre broadband services. The infant telecom operator which has remarkably changed the whole telecom sector of India in the recent past recently extended its Jio Prime membership date to 15th April and is currently testing its fibre broadband services with some clients. To give you an idea, Reliance Jio Giga fibre broadband plan will offer you 50 speed for up to 2000GB of data at Rs 1500 per month. This is one of the plans from the upcoming broadband services from Reliance Jio.

Meanwhile, BSNL also recently released a new pack priced at Rs 339 which offers free unlimited calls within its network (BSNL to BSNL) and 2GB data per day for 28 days. The offer is limited to 90 days. Apart from this, the pack also offers free calls to other networks for up to 25 minutes per day after which users will be charged Rs 25 paise per minute.

Further, BSNL is also offering free 1GB of to all its users, pan India, who are not using data services from BSNL. The mobile data will be valid for 28 days.

Whatever the case maybe, Reliance Jio has certainly brought down the average telecom tariffs drastically with operators like Airtel, Vodafone and Idea all offering unlimited calls and 1GB data every day at around Rs 350. In this telecom war, consumers are always the winner. What do you think?
