Sony has formally unveiled three new Xperia NXT family smartphones with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and Qualcomm Snapdragon mobile processors inside.

Sony Mobile has finally announced the three new smartphones in the Xperia NXT line-up that includes Xperia T, Xperia V and Xperia J. Out of three new Sony Xperia NXT series smartphones, the Xperia T is the new flagship smartphone. All three smartphone will come with Qualcomm Snapdragon family inside and will run the 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update. Out of the three, Xperia J is the new budget friendly smartphone.

The three new Xperia NXT series smartphones will possess the same design and styling. All new Sony Xperia T is now the flagship device with 4.55-inch Reality display powered by Mobile Bravia Engine and supporting 1280×720 pixel natively. This display has been built using shatterproof glass sheet for strength. Measuring just 9.35 mm slim, this smartphone features dual-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 “Krait” MSM8260A mobile processor.

Xperia T

By default, the Xperia T will feature 16 on-board storage out of which the phone memory will have 2 GB, 2.5 GB for firmware (ROM) and about 10.8 GB memory accessible to the user. This smartphone features 13 megapixel with flash and offers 16x digital zoom. This camera is capable of recording 1080p HD videos at 30 frames per second. Sony has used its EXMOR R for mobile image sensing to deliver better quality of images. Sony has added front facing camera good enough to offer 720p HD quality video.

On the multimedia part, Xperia T features 3D Surround Sound, xLOUD Experience, Clear Bass, Clear Stereo and other proprietary technologies along with the native WALKMAN application. This smartphone will be PlayStation Certified to play all games available through the PlayStation Store.

Sony promises to release Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for this device later and has packed 1850 battery inside to offer continuous of about 7 hours. Sony Xperia T will be available in Black, White and Silver colours.

Xperia V

The Xperia V features a 4.3-inch HD Reality display powered by Mobile Bravia Engine and supports 1280×720 pixel resolution natively. Under the 10.7mm thick body, this smartphone houses a dual-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM 8960 mobile processor. The Xperia V will run Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box with the Sony TimeScape layered on top of it. Sony will offer only 8 GB on-board storage for this device out of which only 3.7 GB will be user accessible.

Even this smartphone has the 13 megapixel camera with Exmor R image sensor to capture great quality images. Packing all fancy camera related features such as red-eye reduction, Smile Detection, et al, even this camera is capable enough to capture 1080p HD videos at 30 frames per second. However, this phone has 3D panorama shot capturing feature which is surprisingly missing from the Xperia T details. There is a front facing quality camera for video calls and chat.

For music enthusiasts, even Xperia V packs the same Walkman application along with Sony’s proprietary technologies such as xLOUD Experience and Clear Audio+ for better sound output.

The Xperia V falls into the Xperia Go family with the highest level of dust and water resistance in a smartphone with the IP55/IP57+ certification for the same. It can handle the water if immersed up to 1 meter deep for 30 minutes and provided the 3.5 mm audio port and port are capped. This smartphone will be more multimedia centric with 3D albums and support for the PlayStation Certified 3D games. For better location based services, this smartphone offers support for and also network.

Packing a 1750 mAh battery promising about 7 hours of talk time, the Xperia T will be made available in Black, Pink and White body colors.

Xperia J

The Xperia J features a 4.0-inch Reality display powered by Mobile Bravia Engine, supporting 480×854 pixel resolution natively. The Xperia J runs the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update with TimeScape UI on top of it. Sony has added a single-core 1 GHz Qualcomm MSM7227A mobile processor to smoothly run the Android 4.0 ICS and the PlayStation Certified games.

The Xperia J will offer only 4 GB on-board storage out of which only 2 GB will be accessible to the users. So if you are buying this smartphone be ready for the low memory alerts. At the back, this smartphone features a 5 megapixel camera along with LED Flash and in the front lies a VGA camera for video calling.
Xperia T, Xperia V and Xperia J
Sony has added the Walkman application to this smartphone along with the xLOUD Experience, Manual Equalizer, Clear Stereo, Clear Bass, PlayNow and TrackID music. This smartphone measures 9.2 mm thick and weighs 124 grams. This smartphone will come with 1750 mAh battery and will offer 7 hours of talk time on UMTS mode. The Xperia J will be offered in Black, Gold, Pink and White colours.

All three smartphones will be PlayStation certified and will be capable of running PlayStation store offered games. This smartphone has a NFC chip with ‘One-touch’ feature enabled for easy connectivity.

However, out of the three only Xperia T and Xperia V will offer NFC support and MHL connectivity for viewing content on the big screen without using a charger. Sony Mobile plans to release the Xperia T in coming few weeks meanwhile the Xperia V and Xperia J can be expected globally by the fourth quarter of this year.
