SMS based check in service Hoppr launched

Now all the users have to do is use a simple message to check in to their favorite location and get best deals on products and services while they get rewarded as well.

A new location based check-in service, called Hoppr, has been launched in India. Hoppr works across all mobile devices and platforms using short or as it medium for providing consumers with information to explore rewards, offers, brands and merchants available in their vicinity. The use of the simplest mode of communication makes the use of this service possible for everyone with a mobile phone breaking barriers such as applications, smartphones and even GPRS.

Y2CF, the company behind the service, has already tied up with leading mobile service providers like Airtel, Aircel, Idea, Reliance, Tata Docomo and Vodafone for the Hoppr service. The service will initially cover over 3000 retail outlets/locations spread across top four cities in India – Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Bengaluru. The Hoppr service offers customers with rewards and special services on the go, while its usage remains purely offline.
SMS based check in
To avail this service, user have to register their mobile number with the Hoppr service by sending a short code SMS from their mobile phone. All they need to do is type ‘hop’ and SMS it to 56660 to register as a user on Hoppr. Once registered, users can simply avail the service and can they can check-in to the service anytime, anywhere to earn rewards and get special offers on products and services nearby.

The company is also working on an based application as well for smartphone users, which will be revealed in the coming few days.
