Not completely forgotten. OxygenOs 3.5.9 for the OnePlus 2 Users

Despite not being able to upgrade to Android Nougat 7.0, the OnePlus 2 users still have something to hope for.

The Chinese brand OnePlus has been growing its user base day by day. It has been rolling out new updates and patches continuously. The OxygenOs 3.5.9 update for the OnePlus 2 users resolves the VoLTE reception issue. Thus, despite not being able to upgrade to Android 7.0 Nougat, the OnePlus 2 users still have something to hope for.

Previously, OnePlus confirmed that it will cease Android Nougat update for OnePlus X and OnePlus 2 smartphones. Effectively signalling the end of life cycle for these handsets. However, promises were made by the company for constant updates and provision for providing support the best way they can for OnePlus 2 users. The company noted, “When we built the OnePlus 2 we didn’t have the software infrastructure team in place we do now.”

The continuous complaints by users for fixing the VoLTE reception led to the update of the previous OxygenOS 3.5.8; however this update could not serve the purpose. The new OxygenOS 3.5.9 would hopefully work for fixing this bug.

Meanwhile, users should note that there is no upgrade in the OxygenOS 3.5.9. It is still based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
