Samsung has launched its flagship flip phone dubbed as Samsung W2019 at an event in China. The Samsung W2019 is priced at 18,999 Yuan which is approx Rs 1,98,720 for the base 128GB version and it comes in Rose Gold and Platinum colours. The phone is already available on sale in China.
The Samsung W2019 has two Super AMOLED displays. One at the outside and another inside along with the keypad when the flip is open. Both the displays are 4.2-inches in size and come with 1080×1920 pixels Resolution and aspect ratio of 16:9.
The phone is powered by Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC with Adreno 630 GPU. It has 6GB RAM, 128GB / 256GB Internal Memory and an expandable memory up to 512GB via microSD card slot. It has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and is backed by 3,070mAh battery that claims to offer 85 hours of Standby time and around 280 hours of talk time.
The camera department features a dual rear camera of 12-megapixel primary sensor with LED Flash, f/1.5 or f/2.4 aperture, OIS and secondary sensor of 12-megapixel with f/2.4 aperture. For the front-facing camera, it has an 8-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture.
The Samsung W2019 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo OS along with Samsung Experience UI. The connectivity features include dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, NFC and Bluetooth 4.2. It lacks support for 3.5mm audio jack. The handset is equipped with a dedicated button for accessing Bixby AI assistant. The phone measures 132.9 x 63.4 x 17.3 mm when closed and it weighs 257 grams.
