Samsung reportedly rolling out Android 8.1 Oreo update to Galaxy J7 Pro in India

Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro was launched in India mid last year with Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.

Samsung has reportedly started rolling out the 8.1 Oreo update to its Galaxy J7 Pro smartphone. To recall, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro was launched in India mid last year with Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro’s Android Oreo update is being rolled out over the air. The update is also said to feature the September 2018 Android security patch.

As per a Sammobile report, the Android 8.1 Oreo update comes with version number J730GMDXU5BRJ2. You can manually check for the update by going to the Settings > About phone > System update menu and tap on download. Once the update is downloaded on your device, you have to reboot your device, post which the Android 8.1 Oreo update will be installed.

The update will bring in features like Smart Text Selection, Autofill, Picture-in-Picture Mode, Notification channels, snooze notifications and more. In addition, the update brings Samsung keyboard with new emojis and high-contrast themes, and more.

As far as specifications are concerned, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro sports a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display, is powered by an Exynos 7870 octa-core paired with 3GB of RAM, offers 64GB of inbuilt storage which can be further expandable up to 256GB via a micro card. The smartphone is backed by a 3,600 battery and on the camera front, Galaxy J7 Pro flaunts the 13-megapixel camera in the rear and front.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro was launched at 20,900 but its price was slashed earlier this year for Rs 18,900.
