Samsung has rolled out the latest Android Nougat 7.1.1 update for its Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 tablet, as per a report of SamMobile. The tablet was launched with Android Lollipop in the year 2015 but was later upgraded to Android Marshmallow operating system. The tablet has already been spotted with Android Nougat operating system on GeekBench benchmarking website earlier and the device even received Wifi certification with Nougat. The latest Android Nougat update for Galaxy Tab A 9.7 is available in Germany, Hungary, Italy, Ireland, and Spain.
The update is being rolled out over-the-air, it may take some time before it comes to your device. One can also manually check for the update by going to Settings ->About Phone -> Software Update. For the update, your phone should be at least 50% charged and connected to a Wi-Fi network.
Android 7.1.1 update brings a new feature called ‘app shortcuts’ through which the users can easily access their favourite apps by simply long pressing the app icon. Users can also send GIFs directly from their keyboard on supported apps such as Google Allo, Google Messenger and Hangouts. And lastly, the company has added new emojis that promote gender equality.
As far as specs are concerned, Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 has a 9.7-inch TFT display with a resolution of 1024×768 pixels. It comes with Android Nougat operating system and is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor. There is 2 GB of RAM in the tablet with 16 GB of internal storage. The tablet also has an expandable storage slot that can carry a micro SD card of up to 128 GB. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 has a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera. For connectivity, it offers WiFi, GPS, micro USB and Bluetooth. The tablet, which measures 242.5 x 166.8 x 7.5mm and weighs 487 grams, has a 6000 mAh battery.
