Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ receives another price cut in India

The Galaxy S8 now comes with a market operating price (MOP) of Rs 45,990. The Samsung Galaxy S8+ is now available at a MOP of Rs 51,990.

Samsung has reportedly slashed the price of its last year’s flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ in India. To recall, the smartphones were launched in India in April last year.

 

According to a tweet by a Mumbai-based retailer, Mahesh Telecom, the Galaxy S8 now comes with a market operating price (MOP) of Rs 45,990. The Samsung Galaxy S8+ is now available at a MOP of Rs 51,990. Further, on Flipkart, both the devices are available at a price of Rs 37,990 and Rs 43,990 respectively.

 

This is the second time, Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are receiving a price cut in the country. The Samsung Galaxy S8, which was launched for Rs 57,900, was earlier available for Rs 49,990. The Samsung Galaxy S8+ has received a price cut of Rs 10,910 and it was earlier available at a price of Rs 53,990, against its original price of Rs 64,900. Furthermore, the 128GB variant of the Galaxy S8+ is now available for Rs 64,900, against is original price of Rs 70,900.



To recollect some key specifications, the Samsung Galaxy S8 comes with a 5.8-inch Quad HD (2960 x 1440 pixels) Infinity display which is curved on both sides while the Galaxy S8+ comes with a 6.2-inch Quad-HD display. Both the handsets boast a strange display aspect ratio of 18:9. The Indian variant of the Galaxy S8 and S8+ is likely to come with Exynos 8895 chipset which is an Octa-Core processor clocked at 2.3 GHz. This is because Samsung sells the Qualcomm variant of its flagship in select regions only. Apart from this, the device packs 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 256GB via microSD card.

 

On the camera front, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are equipped with a 12-megapixel rear camera with Dual Pixel technology and aperture f/1.7 and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with smart autofocus and aperture f/1.7.MP F1.7 Smart autofocus front camera.
