Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 now available for prebooking in India

One can pre-book the note by paying a upfront booking amount of Rs 2,000 through the Samsung India e-store.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10.1, which was announced earlier this year during Mobile World Congress, has finally been launched. The tablet will first hit the US retail markets. The device is also available for pre-booking in India. Anyone interested in getting the Galaxy Note 10.1 can register by paying a small upfront booking amount of Rs 2,000 through the Samsung India e-store.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is available in the USA market form today and will be made available in other countries as well in the following days. The 16 and 32 GB variants of the Galaxy Note 10.1 have been priced at $499 and $549 or Rs 28,000 and 31,000 respectively.

Although the official retail release date of the Galaxy Note 10.1 is unavailable as of now it is expected that the device will be made available by the end of this month. That’s not all as Samsung India will also be offering a complementary book cover along with the device for all the users who pre-book the Galaxy Note 10.1 (GT-N8000).

Features

The Galaxy Note 10.1 comes with a massive 10 inch display and the Smart for keeping things exciting. Unlike the previous Galaxy Note, the Note 10.1 does not have the calling functionality and thus comes as a full fledged tablet device with just WiFi connectivity.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 features a 1.4 GHz quad core along with 2 GB of RAM. The has been improved as well and the bigger Note now comes in 16/32 GB variants along with the option to increase the storage space for another 32 GB via micro SD cards. The device also features the latest Google Ice Cream Sandwich operating system that offers maximum performance optimisation and compatibility.

Its 10.1 inch display, which is also its highlight feature, comes with the all new PLS (Plane to Line Switching) technology based display. This technology allows the display to show better colours, contrast and even wider screen viewing angles than the existing IPS technology based screens. The of the display has been kept quite similar to that of other 10 inch variants at 1280 x 800 pixels.

The tablet features a 5 rear camera along with a 1.9 megapixel front camera. This tablet will also bring the much appreciated Smart Stay feature of the Galaxy S III smartphone. Besides, GPS with and for more accurate location based services has also been included in the device.

Along with this the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 comes with a brand new innovation from Samsung which is known as the Multiscreen feature. With this feature, users can effortlessly run two different applications side-by-side on the tablet for true and easy multitasking. Users can view web pages or videos, or launch other applications while writing or sketching ideas with the S Pen on the other half of the screen and there will be no need to toggle back and forth between apps.

The tablet also features S Note, a tool that lets users combine notes or sketches together with web content, images and other digital media into their own personalised storyboards, something that features on the original Galaxy Note device as well.

Hand-drawn geometric shapes can also be digitised by using the Shape Match function of Note 10.1, which helps users to create more organised idea sketches and storyboards as well.

Also included in the tablet is Adobe Photoshop Touch which will use the tablet’s functionality to create masterpieces on the go. This is normally available for $9.99 or Rs 500 (approximately). Further, since Photoshop Touch is optimised for S Pen, users are able to control brush size and opacity by just adjusting the pressure of the pen on the screen.
