Samsung is reportedly working on two new smartphones in its A-series. Dubbed as Galaxy A9 Star and Galaxy A9 Star Lite, the former has been spotted in a leaked hands-on video, while the latter is leaked in live images. The two devices were earlier reported to be launched as Galaxy A8 Star and Galaxy A8 Star Lite.
Starting with the Galaxy A9 Star, the leaked hands-on video (via SlashLeaks) reveals that the smartphone will feature a glass design at the back panel. One can clearly see the dual-camera setup at the rear, which is aligned vertically at the top-left corner, while there is a fingerprint sensor at the top-centre position, which is odd in our opinion as it might be difficult to reach.
The front panel sports the Infinity Display that is present in other newly-launched Samsung smartphones with afront-facing camera and usual array of Sensors sitting on the top. The right houses volume controls, while the left comes with power on/off button. At the base, one can see USB Type-C port flanked between speaker grille and 3.5mm Headphone jack.
The Galaxy A9 Star Lite featured in live images reveals that it will follow a design language similar to what we have seen in Galaxy C Pro series. This could mean that the device might feature a metallic design and in photos, it is certain that it will feature dual rear cameras as well. The Galaxy A9 Star will be available in Black and White colour options, while the Galaxy A9 Star Lite will feature Black, Grey and Blue colours.
Previously, the Galaxy A8 Star bearing model number SM-8850 was spotted on TENAA revealing some key specs. The listing reveals that the smartphone will feature a 6.28-inch Super AMOLED Display with a screen resolution of 2220 x 1080 Pixel against the 5.8-inch screen, which was listed earlier.
Further, the listing reveals that the smartphone will feature dual rear cameras with a combination of 16-megapixel + 24-megapixel sensors. For the front, there will be a 24-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calling.
The smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 Processor and it will be backed by a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 256GB via micro SD card slot. The listing reveals that the smartphone will be backed by a 3,700mAh battery and it will run on Android 8.0 Oreo. The phone measures 162.4 x 77.0 x 7.55mm and weighs 188 grams.
