Samsung Galaxy A7 2017 receives Android Nougat update

The update includes the Dual Messenger feature that lets you setup two accounts of a social networking site.

Samsung has rolled out the latest Android Nougat 7.0 update for its Samsung Galaxy A7 2017 smartphone. Samsung launched the Galaxy A7 2017 smartphone in India earlier this year with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system. The Nougat update comes with the newer version A720FXXU2BQGB. The smartphone has already been spotted with Android Nougat operating system on GFXBench benchmarking website earlier and the device even received Wifi certification with Nougat.

The latest Android Nougat update for Galaxy A7 2017 is available in Thailand. The update also brings the Samsung software as Samsung Experience 8.1 to the Galaxy A7 (2017) in Thailand. The update also includes the Dual Messenger feature that lets you setup two accounts of a social networking site.

The update is around 1394.40MB in size and since the update is being rolled out over-the-air, it may take some time before it comes to your device. One can also manually check for the update by going to Settings ->About Phone -> Software Update. For the update, your phone should be at least 50% charged and connected to a Wi-Fi network.

Android Nougat brings in a bunch of new features other features including split-screen multitasking, more customisable quick settings, improved Google keyboard, enhanced notifications and recent applications window. Further, the latest Android OS version also brings in ‘Double Tap’ on the Recent button to switch between the two most recent apps which come in very handy at times. For extended battery life, Android Nougat comes with ‘Doze on the go’ which will get activated even if your Nougat running device is in your pocket.

As far as specs are concerned, the Samsung Galaxy A7 2017 features a 5.7-inch full HD Super AMOLED 2.5D curved display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. It is powered by a Octa-Core 1.9 GHz Exynos 7880 Processor with Mali-T830MP3 GPU. It comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which can be further expandable up to 256GB via microSD card.

On the camera front, the Galaxy A7 2017 sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/1.9, 27mm, autofocus, LED flash, 1080p video recording, and another 16-megapixel sensor with f/1.9 on the front for selfies and video chats. The device gets is strength from a 3600 mAh battery with Fast Charging support and also houses a fingerprint scanner. Besides, the smartphone offers Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, NFC and USB Type-C. The device measures 156.8 x 77.6 x 7.9 mm.
