Reliance Jio is now bundling two of their Lyf-branded smartphones – Lyf C459 and C451 with 5 GB monthly data and free prime membership, as per a report of Economic Times. Furthermore, Reliance is also slashing the price of Lyf C459 and C451 smartphones by half. Their price will be down by nearly 50% to around Rs 2,500.
The Lyf C459 and C451 are currently priced at Rs 4,699 and Rs 4,999, respectively. After the price cut, both the smartphones will now be available at around Rs 2,500. The move is basically aimed at bringing down the cost of 4G smartphones. Interesting, it comes after media reports of Airtel expecting to launch its ultra-cheap 4G smartphone in the first week of October which is rumoured be priced around Rs 2,000. The reports hint that the Airtel smartphone will be bundled with its own voice and data plans. As far as the specifications are concerned, the Airtel phone is expected to come with a GB of RAM and is likely to feature a 4-inch display and a 1500 mAh battery. Reportedly, it will run on Android Nougat 7 operating system.
“The benefits include Jio Prime membership worth Rs 99, Rs 399 data plan which gives data and free voice for 84 days and 5GB data each month on a minimum recharge of Rs 149, for nine months worth a total of Rs 1,809. The cumulative benefits would bring down the cost of Lyf C459 and Lyf C451 models to Rs 2392 and Rs 2692, respectively,” ET reported.
The Lyf smartphones with Jio bundle offer can be availed from October 2 to October 22 via online and offline channels.
As far as specifications are concerned, the LYF C459 features 4.5-inch FWVGA (480 x 854 pixels) display with 2D Asahi Glass protection. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 MSM8909 processor, which is clubbed with 1GB of RAM and Adreno 304 GPU. It runs on the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system. The phone offers 8GB of internal storage and an expandable memory of 128GB via micro SD card slot.
The LYF C459 has a 2000 mAh Lithium-ion battery, which claims to offer up-to 8 hours of talk-time and up-to 160 hours of Standby time on 4G network. The handset sports a 5-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with an LED flash and a 2-megapixel front camera. The camera features include Auto Frame Rate, Red Eye Reduction, Continuous Auto Focus, Video HDR supported in code, Smile Detection, Gaze detection, Blink Detection, Panorama. Besides, the LYF C459 offers Dual SIM, 4G/LTE with VoLTE, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), WiFi Calling, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, MicroUSB 2.0 as connectivity features. It has Gyroscope, Ambient Light Sensor, Accelerometer, Proximity Sensor and features like Motion & Gesture: Flip to Mute, Double Tap to Wake, Slide up to unlock, Slide down to open camera, Music Player Control gestures, Lock Screen gestures for jumpstarting Apps. The handset measures 132 x66 x 9.3 mm and weighs 139 grams.
On the other hand, LYF C451 features 4.5-inch FWVGA (480 x 854 pixels) display with 218 ppi as Pixel density and 2D Asahi Glass protection. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 MSM8909 processor, which is clubbed with 1GB of RAM and Adreno 304 GPU. It runs on the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system. The phone offers 8GB of internal storage and an expandable memory of 128GB via micro SD card slot.
The LYF C451 has a 2,800 mAh Lithium-ion battery, which claims to offer up-to 12.5 hours of talk-time, up-to 240 hours of standby time on 4G network, Video Playback Up to 6 Hours and Audio Playback Up to 45 Hours. The handset sports a 5-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with an LED flash and a 2-megapixel front camera. The camera features include Face detection, Multi-shot, Panorama, Geo tagging, Touch to focus, Red eye detection, Smile detection, Gaze detection, Blink detection.
