Reliance Jio witness a dip in download speeds, Airtel shows signs of improvement

According to the data released by the TRAI, Reliance Jio average download speed was 14.7Mbps in April 2018, down from 18.7Mbps in March, and which is 21.3Mbps speed in the month of February. Airtel took the second position and it has shown some sign of improvement in the 4G download speeds.

Reliance Jio download speeds is suffering from as it is has dipped for the second consecutive month, as per the data released by Telecom Regulator of India’s (TRAI) MySpeed application. Interestingly, the report highlights that Airtel 4G download speed has increased marginally

According to the data released by the TRAI, Reliance Jio average download speed was 14.7Mbps in April 2018, down from 18.7Mbps in March, and which is 21.3Mbps speed in the month of February. As usual, Airtel took the second position and it has shown some sign of improvement in the 4G download speeds.

The data revealed that Airtel 4G download speeds for the month of April were9.2Mbps, which is a slight increase from 8.8Mbps in the months of March and February. This is followed by Idea and Vodafone with 7.4Mbps and 7.1Mbps download speeds respectively.

Coming to upload speeds, Idea Cellular leads the way with 6.8Mbps followed by Vodafone with 5.6Mbps. Reliance Jio is in fourth place with an average upload speed of 4.3Mbps, while Airtel took the last position with 3.8Mbps of upload speed.

Interestingly, a recent report from OpenSignal also hints that Reliance Jio is suffering from steep decline when it comes to providing 4G speed to its users. The report highlighted that Airtel has the way with an average download speed of 9.31Mbps, followed by Idea with 7.27Mbps, Vodafone with 6.98Mbps and lastly Reliance Jio with just 5.13Mbps. However, when it comes to 4G availability, Reliance Jio is the market leader when it comes to network coverage.
