Redmi Y3 spotted with 3GB RAM, Snapdragon 625 ahead of launch on April 24

The Redmi Y3 will be the successor to the Xiaomi Redmi Y2 smartphone which was launched last year in India.

Xiaomi will be launching its latest Redmi Y3 smartphone in India tomorrow i.e April 24. Now ahead of the launch, the smartphone has been spotted on Geekbench benchmarking site revealing its key specifications.


As per the GeekBench listing, the phone will be powered by Snapdragon 625 SoC paired with 3GB RAM. The listing also reveals the phone will run MIUI 10 on top of Android Pie. The device managed to score a single core score of 1236 and 4213 on the multi-core test.

Xiaomi Redmi Y3

The company has been continuously teasing the upcoming launch of Redmi Y3 hinting at its battery life and key other features. The Redmi Y3 has also been confirmed to arrive with a 32-megapixel camera, and a textured rear panel as well. For the front-facing camera, the company is expected to employ Samsung’s 32-megapixel ISOCELL Bright GD1 image sensor that was announced back in October last year.



Recently, the company released a teaser video that confirms the phone will pack a 4,000mAh battery.  The company also posted an image suggesting the gradient back of the Redmi Y3.


Meanwhile, the ‘Notify Me’ option on Amazon has gone live for the Redmi Y3. One can register on ‘Notify Me’ to receive real-time updates on the device on Amazon India. The listing reveals that the phone will be equipped with a glass design and it will feature dewdrop notch. The smartphone will feature two-day long-lasting battery and it will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.


The Redmi Y3 will be the successor to the Xiaomi Redmi Y2 smartphone which was launched last year in India. The Xiaomi Redmi Y2 has a 5.99-inch HD+ display with 1440 x 720 pixels resolution and an aspect ratio of 18:9. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system and it has 3,080 mAh battery. It is powered with a 2GHz Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor with Adreno 506 GPU. On the camera front, the Redmi Y2 has a 12-megapixel primary camera with PDAF, LED Flash and 5-megapixel secondary camera for AI portrait shots. For the front, the device has a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. The smartphone comes with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage
