Xiaomi has started rolling out a new update to its budget-centric smartphones, the Redmi 8A and Redmi 8 in India. The update brings the gs latest security patch along with new features.
The company has started rolling out MIUI 10.3.3.0.PCPINXM for Redmi 8A and Redmi 8 smartphones. The update brings the gs September security patch to both the devices. The update also adds new features to App Vault. Users can now swipe down to view more shortcuts. Apart from this, it optimises the design and user interface. The update is around 469MB in size and users can check for the update by going to Settings > Software Update.
To recall, the company recently introduced Redmi 8A and Redmi 8 smartphones in India. The Redmi 8A comes with a price tag of Rs 6,499 for 2GB RAM variant, while the 3GB RAM option is priced at Rs 6,999. The Redmi 8 is priced at Rs 7,999 for the 3GB + 32GB and Rs 8,999 for the 4GB + 64GB internal storage.
Both the smartphones are equipped with a 6.2-inch HD+ display with a screen Resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels. Both of them are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor. The Redmi 8 is backed by a dual rear camera setup 12-megapixel primary Sony IMX 363 sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, 1.4μm pixel size, and Dual phase detection and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with LED Flash.
The Redmi 8A comes loaded with a single 12-megapixel AI rear camera featuring Sony IMX363 sensor with an LED flash. Both the phones are equipped with an 8-megapixel selfie shooter. The Redmi 8A and Redmi 8 are backed up by a 5000mAh battery with 18W Fast charging support.
