Android smartphone makers are often seen borrowing unique features from other OEMs in the same space and Realme seems to be back at it again. A new report has emerged online suggesting that Realme could be working on a clone of Dynamic Island that was seen on Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro series, and could call it ‘Mini Capsule’. Read on to know more about the feature.

The report that comes from OnLeaks and Smartprix says that Realme will be the brand that will bring the first ever device with a Dynamic Island. For those unaware, Dynamic Island is Apple’s idea of a notch cutout at the top of the display. It actually changes its shape and size based on the actions by the user, hence, the name ‘Dynamic’ Island.

Realme’s clone of Dynamic Island is supposed to be called Mini Capsule, as per the report. The publication, citing OnLeaks as source, says that it has gotten hold of a picture from a leaked Realme internal document which gives us our first look at Realme’s dynamic island phone.

Inside the photo, one can observe the SuperVOOC charging indicator being shown at the top in a similar fashion as the Dynamic Island on the iPhone 14 Pro. “Also, we are assuming that the island on the android device will also allow access to recently closed/ music apps”, said Smartprix’s report.

Reports of Realme working on a Dynamic Island clone aren’t new altogether. Back in September of last year, soon after the launch of Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro series, Realme in a community post asked its users regarding how the company should implement the Island feature. “What if realme added a software trick to turn the camera cutout into a multifunctional feature? The UI around the camera hole could morph into different shapes and sizes to display incoming phone calls, alerts, notifications, and more”, it wrote.
