Realme 5 was launched in August this year, alongside the Realme 5 Pro at a starting price of Rs 9,999.
After receiving a software update in India last month, Realme 5 has again received a new update. The update brings camera improvements as well as September security patch.
According to the changelog posted on the Realme website, the latest software update for the Realme 5 brings firmware version RMX1911EX_11_A.14.
The company has said in the post that the update is initially a staged rollout. The OTA will be randomly pushed out to a limited number of users today and will have a broader rollout in a few days after making sure there are no critical bugs. If no critical bugs are found, the full roll out will be completed in the upcoming days.
For the camera, the update has optimized camera effect of the third-party application, improved beauty effect of camera, optimized camera's color reproduction, increased the brightness of dark areas at night. Additionally, the update will also improve system stability and the brightness of the flashlight.
The previous update improved the system stability and adds Digital Wellbeing to the Realme 5. It also optimised the multi-finger touch experience for some third-party apps, improved the clarity, preview effect in the portrait mode in night scene and clarity in the HDR mode. The update also improved the effect of the primary rear camera in the zoom mode.
Realme 5 was launched in August this year, alongside the Realme 5 Pro. It is priced starting at Rs 9,999 for 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage, Rs 10,999 for the 4GB RAM with 64GB of internal storage variant and the 4GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage is priced at Rs 11,999. Realme 5 comes in Crystal Purple and Crystal Blue colour options.
Realme 5 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor. It runs Color OS 6.0 based on Android 9.0 Pie and comes with a 5,000mAh battery. The phone features a 6.5-inch HD+ (720x1600 pixels) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3+ and waterdrop notch design. It has a quad rear camera setup with a 12-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel 119-degree wide-angle lens, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel portrait lens. There is a 13-megapixel front camera.
