Days after launching the Realme U1 across offline stores in India, Realme has now confirmed that a new feature will be rolled out to Realme phones when ColorOS 6 is launched. The new feature will offer an App drawer for the first time on a Realme smartphone for which users were previously forced to install a third-party launcher.
The news comes from a tweet by Realme CEO Madhav Sheth who revealed that ColorOS 6 on Realme smartphones will unlock the ability to access apps through an App drawer in the near future. Until now, Realme even after being an independent entity has used Oppo’s ColorOS interface over Android as its default operating system.

Prior to ColorOS 6, all Realme phones feature iPhone-like app layout on the home screen which added the newly installed apps directly on the screen. In contrast to this, phones with near to Stock Android interface like the ones from Asus, Motorola, OnePlus and Google have come to offer an app drawer through which all apps can be easily accessed.
In addition to confirming an app drawer on ColorOS 6, Sheth also verified that the update will be made available to its oldest smartphone – the Realme 1. This means, when ColorOS 6 gets released, Realme will update all of its smartphones including the Realme 1, Realme 2, Realme 2 Pro, Realme C1, Realme C1 (2019) and Realme U1 during the course of the year.

Recently, it was the Realme U1 which was the latest device to receive an update from Realme and the update featured fingerprint shooting for the camera and reboot function. The update was in lieu of the latest Update schedule for the Realme UI, Realme C1, Realme 2 Pro, Realme 2 and Realme 1 devices.
