Google I/O conference starts on the May 15 and the company is rumored to launch a new generation Nexus 7 and Nexus 11 tablets. Ming-Chi Kuo, an KGI Securities Analyst shared in his research note that the new Nexus 7 tablet will be superior in terms of specifications than the last year’s model. Once again, the Nexus 7 will be made by ASUS and Google will put the Android OS software on it.
The new Nexus 7 tablet is touted to feature the same 7-inch display size, albeit with edge-to-edge style screen. This display will feature 1920×1200 pixel Resolution natively and will made of the IPS LCD panel technology. Google-ASUS will pack a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 APQ8064 mobile processor to power the device.
Google will announce the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean MR2 at the Google I/O and the same will be loaded on the new Nexus 7 tablet. At the rear would be a 5 megapixel camera and HD video supporting front facing camera for imaging. Google will also include the Near Field Communication chip and also conductive charging with support for Qi Charging technology.
Apart from Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, this tablet will feature a 4000 mAh battery to power the hardware and also run for relatively long time. Do note that these specifications were mentioned in a research note and are not the direct confirmation of the official specifications. Hence, we take this information with a grain of salt and look forward to the Google I/O starting May 15.
