Prana Air Pocket Monitor launched in India to measure air pollution levels

Prana Air Pocket Monitor features a built-in sensor to check real-time PM2.5 values on the go, so that users know right away when the levels are too high.

Purelogic Labs India has unveiled the Prana Air Pocket Monitor – a portable and accurate air pollution monitor that detects particles with less than 2.5 micrometres diameter. The Pocket Monitor can be purchased at PranaAir.com for a price of Rs 2,990.

The Prana Air Pocket Monitor features a built-in sensor to check PM2.5 values on the go. PM2.5 means particles with a diameter less than 2.5 micrometres which are dangerous to inhale. The portable pocket monitor thus ensures that a user knows right away when the levels are too high.

Upon switching on, the monitor will begin measuring the air quality and will show the values of PM2.5 levels and a safety level category right beside it to notify users whether they’re in a Good air-quality space or if the area around is hazardous. The device can detect up to 2000 µg/m3 through a laser sensor.

The Prana Air monitor comes with a 400mAh battery that the company says will last to up to 4 hours on a single charge. The device comes with a micro-USB cable for charging and can be fully charged from 0-100 percent in 1 hour. The portable device can be used in indoor and outdoor environments including homes, offices or the car and can constantly check air quality levels in real-time.

Speaking about the product, Purelogic Labs Founder, Rohit Bansal said “Air pollution is a worldwide problem where instant knowledge and awareness of the issue is needed. The Pocket Monitor allows any user from a novice to experienced level to quickly and in real-time check how the PM2.5 values are in their surroundings. Based on that, they can take action to protect themselves”.

Prana Air Pocket Monitor is available in India for an asking price of Rs 2,990.
