Opera now offers in-app VPN service through its Android Browser

Opera for Android 51 features a built-in VPN service which is free, unlimited and easy to use. Enabling the VPN allows users control of their online privacy and improves their online security, especially when connecting to public Wi-Fi networks.

Days after rivals Mozilla and Google launched updated versions of its browsers, Opera has announced a new version of its mobile browser. Starting today, Opera for will support a built-in service free-of-cost within its mobile browser.

The Norwegian browser developer is currently rolling out version 51 of its Opera browser for all Android devices. The update features a built-in VPN service which is free, unlimited and easy to use. Enabling the VPN allows users control of their online privacy and improves their online security, especially when connecting to public networks.

When users enable the built-in VPN, the app will create a private and encrypted connection between the phone and the remote service using a strong 256-bit algorithm. Using a VPN will help user hide their physical location and avoid usage tracking. The VPN will send users’ request through a secure tunnel that encrypts Internet traffic coming in and out from their mobile devices. This reduces the risk of malicious third parties collecting sensitive information.
