Opera joins the cricket bandwagon with Opera Cricket

The new service will help users to keep a track on the latest cricket scores, commentary, video, and notifications that will help users to keep track of their favourite teams and players in one place.

Opera has today announced the launch of a new feature on its Opera Mini which would provide the latest cricket scores, commentary, video, and notifications besides helping users track their favourite teams and players in one place. Dubbed as Opera Cricket, the services are available inside the popular Opera Mini browser for devices.

For this, one need to update the Opera Mini browser to the latest version and once it is done, users will see a “Get Started” banner to activate this feature. The service has two tabs namely What’s On and Results.

The “What’s On” section keeps users updated during on-going matches, and provides final scores. Further, there will be live ball-by-ball commentary for the biggest games. One can also subscribe to each upcoming match to get a notification when the game begins. For this, one needs to toggle the button to the left of the selected matches to receive the start time notification.

Apart from this, the new window will also provide all the information starting from lives scores of T20 matches, test matches and scorecards of the players as well. One can also watch video highlights through this service.

Previously, Opera rolled a new version for its browser platform. The latest Opera 43 brings a new mechanism for instant page loading. To explain, Opera browser predicts which website you are typing the address for and begins loading it in the background before you hit enter. For example, if your browser usage reveals you often visiting ‘www.themobileindian.com’ it will automatically start loading the web page in the background before you actually navigate to the web page. Further, it will also load results likely to be clicked in the background.
