OnePlus 5 is turning out to be a very puzzling flagship device. We have already seen numerous contradicting rumours about the dual-camera placement on the device and now OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei has started a fresh debate about the placement of the headphone jack.
According to the latest tweet by Carl Pei, which reads “Why did the headphone jack cross the road?” the headphone jack on the upcoming flagship device might be moved to the ‘other side’. For your reference, OnePlus 3T features a headphone jack at the bottom of the device, and if we go by Pei’s tweet then it might be moved to the top panel.
However, a recently leaked image shows have something else to say. The images reveal that OnePlus 5 will ditch the traditional jack in favour of USB Type-C port. The big question now arises is, whether it would have a headphone jack or not? We suggest you hold your horses until the time we have some concrete information about the placement of the headphone jack.
After generating a great hype among masses and subsequently the fair success of OnePlus 3T, the former Oppo Vice President, Pete Lau, led group is gearing up for the launch of OnePlus 5 in the coming summer, by June end to be precise. A lot is being expected from this device as its predecessor boasted of efficient performance in a considerably low price range. The smartphone has been subjected to various leaks and we have compiled it for you.
Leaks so far:
- Display: 5.5-inch
- Resolution: 1440 x 2560 pixels
- Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 835
- Memory: 64 GB,128 GB
- RAM: 6 GB
- OS: Android 7.1.1 Nougat
- Camera: Front camera – 8 MP
Rear camera – 12 MP
- Battery: 3600 mAh
As we had reported earlier, the OnePlus 5 will have a 5.5-inch screen, metal unibody design coupled with 6 GB RAM and the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. It is being touted as a competitor to Samsung Galaxy S8 though the pricing would be less than that of its Samsung counterpart but higher than 3T as the components being used in this smartphone are more sophisticated. If the leaked images are to be believed, the device will have a dual rear camera setup and as OnePlus has partnered with DxO, thereby, it is expected that camera experience will be more subtle.
With a cutthroat competition already going on in the industry, OnePlus 5 is surely roaring to make it more interesting, with the leaked specs being this powerful, a true blue contest is on the cards.
