Finnish mobile device manufacturer Nokia is expected to showcase a cheaper variant of its Lumia series of Windows based smartphones during the Mobile Word Congress.
To be named as Lumia 610, this phone will be priced at an even lower price tag than the Nokia Lumia 710, which at Rs 15,500, is currently the cheapest Windows Phone based device in the Indian market. However, Nokia has not revealed the price of Lumia 610 which is expected to be in Rs 10,000-15,000 price bracket.
The information was revealed by Reuters who also reported that the LTE /4G connectivity based Nokia Lumia 900 will also be revealed by the company during the MWC.
The Lumia 610 will not be a phone with low end hardware specifications as Windows Phone comes with a strict minimum hardware requirement of minimum 1 GHz processor, 256 MB RAM and 4 GB of onboard memory.
Along with that there is a huge possibility that the Lumia 610 might also be based on the newer version of Windows Phone codenamed Tango also due for launch in the second quarter of the year 2012.
But ultimately the final details will only be revealed once the device is showcased during the Mobile World congress that starts on 27th of this month.
