HMD Global has sent out the revised invites for a launch event on December 10. It was earlier reported that the company will be holding a launch in India on December 6 to announce the Nokia 7.1 and Nokia 8.1.
However, Nokia 7.1 was quietly announced in India on Friday and simultaneously the company has also sent out invites for a new launch date of December 10. This company is expected to launch the Nokia 8.1, which is the global variant of the Nokia X7. The media invite though has not revealed anything about the phone to be launched at the event.
To recap on the spec sheet of the Nokia 8.1, the device will feature a 6.18-inch Full HD+ display with a screen Resolution of 2246 x 1080 pixels. The phone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 2.2GHz octa-core processor. The Nokia 8.1 will be offered in three colours – Red, Silver and Blue.
It will likely have three variants – 4GB+64GB, 6GB+64GB, 6GB+128GB storage. All the variants are expandable up to 400GB via micro SD card slot. The phone is expected to have a 12-megapixel primary lens and 13-megapixel secondary sensor and a 20-megapixel front camera. It will run on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system and is part of the Android One program. The software will be upgradable to Android 9 Pie and will be backed up by a 3400mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.
