Nokia has started pushing a new update for its Windows Phone 7.5 Mango OS running Lumia 800 smartphone. The new Windows Phone 7.5 Mango based firmware update for the Lumia 800 is reportedly working wonders as far as battery life is concerned.
WPCentral reported that after opting the update for the Lumia 800, several users are reporting battery life being tripled.
Three months ago, Nokia had acknowledged a bug with the Lumia 800 handsets that prevented the phone from charging to full capacity. Following that Nokia immediately released two stop-gap updates for fixing the battery life. Now the company has released third update as a new firmware 1600.2487.8107.12070 for the Lumia 800 devices in select countries and continues rolling out globally.
Surprisingly, Nokia hasn’t said a word about this Vodafone centric update. Several Lumia 800 users across the world with Vodafone card are reporting good battery life after applying the update.
Other changes that come along with the new 12070 update include the improvement in the sound department. Even the camera of Lumia now comes with better white-balance setting for clicking good pictures with greater colour accuracy. Along with that other camera improvements that are yet to be confirmed include Panorama, Sport Mode, Self Timer and Smart Group shot.
Nokia Lumia 800 smartphone runs Windows Phone 7.5 Mango mobile operating system and houses a non-removable 1450 mAh battery which is reportedly getting boost with new firmware update. This handset has recently received a price cut and is now available in India market for Rs. 23,900.
