Motorola has confirmed that the two-year-old Moto X Play will soon get to taste the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat update in India. The company’s official Twitter handle confirms that smartphone will receive Nougat update, however, the brand didn’t provide a definite release date.
The tweet reads, “Nougat will come to the Moto X Play soon. However, we are unable to provide a definite release date.” According to the Support page, the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update brings many enhancements including multi-tasking features and Google Duo will come bundled with the latest update. Apart from this, there are some stability improvements and Android security patches until May 1, 2017.
To recall, the Android Nougat brings in a bunch of new features including split-screen multitasking, more customisable quick settings, better battery life, improved Google keyboard, enhanced notifications and recent applications window. Further, the latest Android OS version also brings in ‘Double Tap’ on the Recent button to switch between the two most recent apps which come in very handy at times. For extended battery life, Android Nougat comes with ‘Doze on the go’ which will get activated even if your Nougat running device is in your pocket.
Recollecting some key specs, the Motorola Moto X Play comes with a 5.5-inch display that has full HD (1080p) Resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Both its models have micro SD card slot for 128 GB capacity. Motorola Moto X Play has the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system and runs on the 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor.
It offers the Adreno 405 graphics processor, 2 GB RAM, 21-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. The rear camera has a f/2.0 Aperture and offers Quick Capture, full HD video recording capability, slow motion video recording, 4X digital zoom, Auto HDR, and panorama features. There are two LED lights on the back panel as well. The smartphone offers dual SIM with 4G connectivity, dual-band WiFi (a/b/g/n), WiFi Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0 LE version, GPS with A-GPS, NFC, FM radio, and micro USB 2.0 port. It has a 3630 mAh non-removable battery.
