Motorola has started rolling out a new update to its Moto G7 and Moto G7 Plus smartphones. The new update comes with version number PPO29.114-134 for the Moto G7 and PPW29.98-111 for the Moto G7 Plus.
As per the official changelog, both the smartphones are updated with June 2019 security patch. This is quite odd for a company like Motorola, who had a good past record of rolling out regular security patches, is now failing to keep up with the competition. We have seen different brands rolling out July and August security patches to its devices, but Motorola has managed to roll out just June security patch to its G7 series. That said, the update also brings some system improvements and bug fixes, reports Piunikaweb.
Meanwhile, the company has confirmed that it will be launching a new smartphone in India on August 23. Although the company has not revealed the name of the upcoming smartphone, if recent teasers are to be believed that it will be Motorola One Action.
To recall, Motorola introduced Moto G7 and Moto G7 Plus in India. The Moto G7 was launched at Rs 16,999, however, after a price cut, it currently sells for Rs 15,999. Moto G7 Plus was launched at Rs 22,499 and later on, it received a price cut of Rs 10,500 bringing down its price to Rs 11,999.
As far as specifications of Moto G6 Plus are concerned, it has a 5.93-inch Full HD+ display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. The display has protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and comes armed with Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor along with Adreno 508 GPU. The Moto G7 is equipped with a 6.24-inch full-HD+ (1080×2270 pixels) Max Vision display with 19:9 aspect ratio and 403ppi pixel density. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 octa-core processor with a clock speed of 1.8GHz.
