Moto G6, Moto G6 Play get 4G VoLTE support for Vodafone

The phones are Motorola's first smartphones to get VoLTE support from a Global System for Mobile communications (GSM) operator in India. Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play comes with a price tag of Rs 13,999 and Rs 11,999 respectively.

Motorola launched its latest budget-centric G6 series smartphones in India recently. Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play comes with a price tag of Rs 13,999 and Rs 11,999 respectively. Now Motorola has rolled out Vodafone VoLTE support for both Moto G6, Moto G6 Play smartphones.

Now in addition to Reliance Jio, the smartphone will support VoLTE for Vodafone in circles where it is available. It is to be noted that the phones do not support Airtel VoLTE or Idea VoLTE at the moment. It is now expected that the phones will also get the support of these operators in the future. The phones are Motorola’s first smartphones to get VoLTE support from a Global System for Mobile communications (GSM) operator in India.

Motorola other smartphones such as the Moto X4, Moto G5S, Moto G5S Plus, Moto G5, Moto G5 Plus and Moto Z2 Force are yet to receive VoLTE services. All the Motorola smartphones by default support Reliance Jio VoLTE.

Vodafone is now offering VoLTE services in Kolkata, Punjab, Chennai, Rajasthan, Mumbai, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Kerala, Maharashtra and Goa. For the unintended, VoLTE services work on the networks speed, which will provide quality of voice calls and faster call setup to customers. In case of non-availability of 4G network coverage, VoLTE calls will automatically fall back on the 3G/2G network, so that the customers continue to stay connected.

Moto G6 features a 5.7-inch Full display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by a 1.8 GHz octa-core Snapdragon 450 with Adreno 506 GPU. This is paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via micro SD card slot.

It ships with 8.0 Oreo operating system. This dual phone has two rear cameras – 12-megapixel primary camera with 76-degree lens and f/1.8 aperture. For selfies and video calling, it offers a 5-megapixel front camera with 79-degree lens and f/2.2 aperture. It is powered by a 3000mAh battery with TurboCharge support and there is a fingerprint sensor on the front embedded in the home button.

Moto G6 Play has a 5.7-inch screen with HD resolution. The smartphone is powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core Snapdragon 430 along with Adreno 505 GPU. The phone is backed by a 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128 via card slot.

On the camera front, it features 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 with a single flash. For the front, there is an 8-megapixel front sensor. The smartphone is juiced up by a 4000mAh battery with TurboCharge support and runs on Android 8.0 Oreo.
