Meizu Pro 7 expected to launch in India soon

After a long wait, it seems Meizu is all set to launch a new smartphone in India pretty soon. The company has posted a new teaser on its official Twitter handle, teasing the launch of a ‘Pro’ smartphone, which could be either Meizu Pro 7 or Pro 7 Plus.

The Tweet reads, “It’s time for you to become a Pro! Stay Tuned #BeAPro.” The tweet also contains a teaser image, which shows dual-screen feature of the Pro 7. Further, the word Pro indicates that the company will launch the Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus smartphones in India.

To recall, the brand introduced the dual-screen smartphones, Meizu Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus in China this year. The Pro 7 with MediaTek Helio P25 processor, 4GB is priced at 2800 Yuan (approx. Rs 26,696), while the Helio X30 with 4GB of RAM and 128GB storage variant comes with a price tag of 3380 Yuan (approx. Rs 32,226). The Pro 7 Plus with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant is priced at 3580 Yuan (approx. Rs 34,133), while the 128GB storage variant comes with a price tag of 4080 Yuan (approx. Rs 38,900).

The major highlight of the smartphones are the dual screens which display information like notifications, weather, time, music and more. The second screen can be also used for taking selfies with phones’ rear cameras. Both the phones have a 1.9-inch secondary Super with a density of 307ppi.

Another major highlight of both the devices are the dual rear cameras which come with a combination of 12-megapixel out of which one is used to taking pictures, while other captures RGB colours. The cameras further come with f/2.0, 1.25-micron pixel size, Sony IMX386 sensors, PDAF and dual-tone LED flash. For the front, both the devices sports a 16-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calling.

Starting with the smaller Pro 7, the device features a 5.2-inch Full Super AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The smartphone comes in two variants: one is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P25 processor along with Mali-T880 GPU, while the other sports a deca-core MediaTek Helio X30 processor with PowerVR 7XTP-MP4 GPU. However, it is still not known, which variant will make its Indian debut. The phone is backed by a 4GB of RAM and comes in 64GB and 128GB storage variants.

The Pro 7 is powered by a 3000mAh battery with mCharge technology and runs on Flyme OS 6 which is based on 7.0 Nougat. The phone measures 147.6 x 70.7 x 7.3mm and weighs 163 grams.

The Pro 7 Plus, on the other hand, comes loaded with a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The device is powered by a deca-core MediaTek Helio X30 processor, which is clocked at 2.6GHz. The phone is backed by a 6GB of RAM and comes with 64GB and 128GB of storage variants.

The device runs Android 7.0 Nougat based on Flyme OS 6 and is backed by a 3500mAh battery with mCharge 4.0 fast charging. Both the smartphone comes loaded with a fingerprint sensor and on the connectivity front, both of them support VoLTE, WiFI 802.11.ac, 4.2, GPS, and USB port.
