Meizu 17 will be company’s first 5G smartphone

The smartphone would come equipped with X50 5G modem used for 5G connectivity.

Last week, Meizu had launched its latest flagship device Meizu 16s in China. Now it looks like company is gearing up to release is first flagship smartphone, dubbed as Meizu 17. One of the user from Meizu Community in China posted a picture showing Meizu 17’s slogan that reads “meet the 5G new era, Meizu 17 is coming”. The smartphone would come equipped with X50 5G used for 5G connectivity.

As per reports, the Meizu 17 will have a ‘Holeless’ Design, which means it could be the same Meizu Zero smartphone that was announced earlier this year. The Meizu Zero was touted as the world’s first phone with a “Holeless” Design as it has zero number of holes which means no 3.5mm jack, no speaker grills, no charging port, and no slot.

The company had also announced the Meizu Zero crowdfunding campaign, but allegedly failed to get the expected response. Now it look like company might release Meizu Zero as Meizu 17.

As far as specifications of Meizu Zero are concerned, the smartphone features a unibody design, with curved edges and a near edge-to-edge OLED display. It sports a 5.99-inch (1080 × 2160 pixels) Full Super and an in-display fingerprint sensor. There are no volume or power buttons in the phone, instead, it features pressure-sensitive power and volume buttons using Meizu-specific mEngine 2.0 on the sides. he phone has features like e-SIM support, wireless charging, and sound-on-display technology.

The smartphone has a Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 alongside Adreno 630 GPU. For the optics, its features dual camera setup with combination of Sony IMX380 12-megapixel + Sony IMX350 20-megapixel sensor. In the front, it houses a 20-megapixel selfie snapper. Further, company claimed that users can make use of enabled earphones to listen to the songs wirelessly. The phone will be water and dust resistant with ratings. The Meizu Zero is said to supports Super mCharge 18W wireless charging.
