Meizu has today launched its new smartphones – Meizu 16 and 16 Plus in China. The Meizu 16 comes in three variants – 6GB RAM with 64GB storage, 6GB RAM with 128 GB storage and 8GB RAM with 128GB storage priced at 2698 Yuan (approx. 27,140), 2998 Yuan (approx. 30,150) and 3298 Yuan (approx. Rs 33,170) respectively.
The Meizu 16 Plus also comes in three variants – 6GB + 128GB at 3198 Yuan (approx. Rs 32,165), 8GB + 128GB at 3498 Yuan (approx. Rs 35,180) and 8GB + 256GB will cost you 3998 Yuan (approx. Rs 40,210)
Meizu 16 and Meizu 16 Plus will be made available for sale from August 16 and August 20 respectively. Both the smartphones feature an in-display fingerprint sensor with 99.12% high recognition rate.
Meizu 16
The Meizu 16 sports a 6-inch full HD+ Super AMOLED Display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor with Adreno 630 GPU coupled with 6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB internal storage and 8GB RAM with 128GB internal storage.
The smartphone runs Android 8.1 Oreo wrapped under Flyme OS. The battery will have 3,010 mAh capacity with support for mCharge fast charging. It has a dual rear cameras of 12MP wide-angle lens, Sony IMX380 sensor, f/1.8 aperture, PDAF, Laser auto-focus and 20MP telephoto lens with Sony IMX350 sensor, f/2.6 aperture. For the front, it has 20MP camera with f/2.0 aperture, AI face unlock.
The connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS and USB Type-C. It measures 150.5 × 73.2 × 7.3mm and weighs 152 grams.
Meizu 16 Plus
This smartphone features 6.5-inch (1080 × 2160 pixels) Full HD+ Super AMOLED display. An Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor powers this device with Adreno 630 GPU. It has 6GB RAM with 128GB Internal Memory and 8GB RAM with 128GB/256GB internal memory. This dual SIM smartphone runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo) with Flyme OS with 3640mAh battery with mCharge fast charging.
For the camera, it has a 20MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture, AI face unlock. For the rear, it has a 12MP primary sensor with wide-angle lens, Sony IMX380 sensor, f/1.8 aperture, PDAF, Laser auto-focus and a secondary 20MP telephoto lens with Sony IMX350 sensor, f/2.6 aperture. It has the same connectivity options as of Meizu M16. For dimensions, it has 160.4 × 78.2 ×7.3 mm and weight is 182 grams.
As of now, there is no information of launch of these Meizu smartphones in India. The company last launched Meizu M6 for Rs 7,699 in India in June this year. The smartphone is available for purchase on Amazon India and it comes only in Black colour.
