iVOOMi Me1+ to get Nougat update on July 6

The smartphone was launched in April for Rs 4,999 with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.

Chinese brand, iVoomi will roll out the Nougat 7.0 update for its iVOOMi Me1+ smartphone tomorrow. The smartphone was launched in April for Rs 4,999 with 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. iVOOMi Me1+ is available for sale exclusively on Shopclues.

The Nougat update for this device weighs in at 998MB. It will bring features like Multiple Setting Window, One Touch Display Size Notification, Emergency Information, Spilt Screen Multi Window etc to the phone. In addition, the update will bring Data Server as one of the key features, which will help user customise data saving by selecting specific apps. The new UI will also help to control applications notification priority and will let it customers access multiple languages on a keypad.

Speaking on the announcement, Ashwin, CEO, iVOOMi said “At iVOOMi, we believe that our customer should have access to benefits that exist for smartphones in the market and therefore, being the only player in this price range, we are pushing for Nougat”.

iVooMi Me 1+ features a 5-inch (1280 x 720p) IPS display and is powered by a 1.2 GHz Quad-Core paired with 2GB of RAM. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system (Nougat from tomorrow) and comes with 16GB internal storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB via micro card.

It has an 8-megapixel rear camera with a flash coupled with a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calling. The device is equipped with 3000 mAh battery with fast charge 2.0 technology. It offers Dual SIM, with VoLTE, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, micro-USB port and FM radio for connectivity.
