Idea Cellular which is now Vodafone Idea Limited has launched a new Prepaid plan of Rs 149 for its customers. The new plan comes with a validity of 28 days and it competes with Reliance Jio and Airtel Rs 149 prepaid plans.
TelecomTalk reports, that the new Rs 149 tariff plan is available as an open market one in circles such as Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, Kerala, Karnataka and others. Idea Cellular is offering its customers data, voice calling and SMS benefits for a period of 28 days, under this offer.
Users get 33GB 2G/3G/4G data benefit, unlimited calls and 100 SMS per day. However, the unlimited calls are capped to 250 minutes per day and 1000 minutes per week. Also, users can make voice calls to only 100 unique numbers during the validity period of the plan.
The new Idea Rs 149 pack takes on the similarly priced Airtel and Jio packs which also come with a validity of 28 days. The Jio Rs 149 pack offers its users 1.5GB of 4G data per day, unlimited voice calls without FUP limit, and 100 SMS per day. So Jio pack has an EDGE over Idea as Jio is offering 42GB of data in comparison to Idea 33GB data offering for the whole validity period. Also, Idea comes with a FUP limit on unlimited calling, while Jio allows its users unlimited calling without any FUP limit.
Airtel Rs 149 plan, on the other hand, offers 1GB data per day, unlimited voice calls, and 100 SMS per day. Airtel is offering 28GB of data while Idea is offering 33GB data for 28 days. On comparing both plans, Idea emerges as the winner in data offering but in calling, Airtel has an edge as it comes without any FUP limit.
