Idea Cellular has today announced the roll out of its VoLTE (Voice over LTE) service for customers across nine major markets – Mumbai, Karnataka, Punjab, Haryana, West Bengal, UP (East), UP (West), Bihar & Jharkhand and Rajasthan. With this, Idea VoLTE services is now in across 15 circles in India.
Earlier this month, Idea rolled out of its VoLTE (Voice over LTE) service across six markets – Maharashtra & Goa, Gujarat, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana and Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh. In addition, Idea customers will also get 30GB of 4G data free which is 20GB more than the 10GB data that the company announced for the initial six circles.
Idea users will get 10 GB data on making the first VoLTE call, additional 10 GB on giving feedback on the service after four weeks, and another 10 GB on giving feedback after eight weeks, as part of the launch offer.
Idea VoLTE delivers High Definition voice services over 4G/ LTE network which makes the voice sound more natural as compared to a standard voice call while eliminating background noise. It also offers faster call connection and better battery utilization.
Idea VoLTE allows subscribers to continue experiencing un-interrupted 4G internet while simultaneously being on a voice call. Idea VoLTE enables users to automatically be routed to 3G/2G when they move out of 4G network using Single Radio Voice Call Continuity (SRVCC), thus ensuring continuous call connectivity. Users will be able to call all mobile and landline networks using Idea’s VoLTE service.

In addition to network expansion, Idea has been focused at providing attractive voice and data plans for postpaid and prepaid customers along with forging partnerships with handset makers to bring superior quality devices at affordable prices for Idea customers to enjoy high-speed 4G data and superior voice experience on VoLTE.”
The brand has also revealed a list of smartphones that works seamlessly with Idea’s VoLTE services. The list includes Vivo V7 Plus, Honor 5C, Honor 6X, Honor 7X, Honor View 10, Honor 9 Lite, and Honor 9i handsets. Besides, the Xiaomi Redmi 4, Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro, Galaxy A5, Galaxy A7, OnePlus 5, OnePlus 5T, OnePlus 6, Nokia 3, and Nokia 5 devices will start releasing Over the Air (OTA) updates to enable Idea users to experience VoLTE service, soon.
