Huawei is reportedly working on the latest flagship device, the P11, which will come with a triple camera setup and bezel-less display. Now, it seems that the company is planning to launch the device at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018.
According to a known tipster, Roland Quandt says Huawei is considering to launch the next flagship device in Q1 of 2018. He says that company representatives have been hinting “exciting new products” with a focus on camera and AI for Q1 at a local German Huawei Xmas event. He further added that the smartphone could be unveiled at the MWC 2018, similar to what we have seen in the case of Huawei P10.
The Huawei P11 could be a first for the company in many departments. Multiple reports suggest that the smartphone could come with a bezel-less display with an iPhone X-like notch. The folks at XDA Developers have come across some firmware files of an upcoming Huawei flagship device that reveals some key specifications as well. One of the configuration files refers the notch as the ‘RoundCornerDisplay’ and there are other configuration files that support the existence of a notch on the upcoming device.
Further, the report highlights that the smartphone could feature a 6.01-inch Samsung EA8074 CMD TFT LCD panel with a resolution of 2160 x 1080, though other files reveal that it will bear a resolution of 2244 x 1080 pixels. The discrepancy could be because of the notch.
Coming to the specifications, the report mentions that the device will be powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 960 processor, which is present in Huawei’s current flagship smartphones including the Huawei M10, Mate 10 Pro and Honor View 10. The phone will run on Android 8.0 Oreo with a slightly upgraded version of EMUI 8.0.1. Further, the smartphone will support company’s Easy Projection that indicates that it will feature a USB 3.1 port.
