Telecom equipment maker Huawei has launched a low cost tablet – MediaPad Lite, which will be the company’s first low cost 3G tablet to hit the Indian market and is now available for Rs 13,700 from online retailers like Flipkart.
The Huawei MediaPad Lite competes with other low cost counterparts like the Samsung Tab 2 310 and other 3G tablets from various Indian and international low cost manufacturers.
MediaPad 7 Lite features a 7 inch display with 1024 x 600 Pixel resolution and a capacitive multi point responsive touch system. The tablet is powered by a 1.2 GHz Cortex A8 architecture based processor, a 600 MHz graphics unit and 1 GB of RAM to keep things speedy.
The device comes with a tiny 4 GB of internal storage, but it can be easily complemented with another 32 GB through a micro SD card. It has Android 4.0 operating system but is expected to be upgraded to Android Jelly Bean 4.1. Similar to the earlier MediaPad, Huawei has given this tablet a metal unibody for class, looks and strength.
The MediaPad will also feature integrated 3G with calling capabilities.
For connectivity, the MediaPad 7 Lite has b/g/n wireless and Bluetooth 3.0, and a 4,100 mAh battery for better backup as well.
